The Manager II is accountable for improving student achievement with special attention on English Learners and Special Education students through effective management of assigned areas; coordinate, plan, and manage assigned functions or programs relating to fiscal management, control and analysis of a specific area within a Department or Division in support of educating students at a high level; ensure compliance with applicable federal, State and local laws, rules and regulations; supervise, provide clear work direction and evaluate the performance of assigned staff to provide timely delivery of high quality services.
Support Health Services Director with supervision and evaluation of Health Services employees (RNs, LVNs, Health Assistants, etc.).
Hiring and training of new RNs & LVNs and Health Assistants.
Professional development for RNs, LVNs and Health Assistants.
Coordinate FUSD school nurses as preceptors for CSUF and Fresno Adult School nursing students.
Coordinate staff meetings
Manage staffing for Health Services employees (Daily schedule, Saturday Academy, Camps, etc.)
Support school nurses and students by advising and/or attending 504 and IEP meetings for students with complicated medical needs.
Represent Health Services at community meetings and committees to coordinate services for students and families.
Learn additional responsibilities of Health Services Director such as; Budget preparation and monitoring, Medi-Cal Biling Option Program, MAA Program, applicable laws, regulations and policies and school-based health centers.
Manage, monitor and maintain student health records in current FUSD health management systems.
OTHER DUTIES THAT MAY BE REQUIRED:
Summer School hiring, supervision and training of RNs, LVN’s and Health Assistants.
Write and manage grants to improve health education and services for students and families.
